Mobile off-the-grid getaway cabins
These getaway cabins are thoughtfully designed to be non-motorized recreational vehicles that meet recreational vehicle standards and are kept in highway-ready condition. Measuring 8.5 feet in width, 13 feet and 4 inches in height, and 34 feet in length, each cabin weighs less than 10,000 pounds.
The getaways will be located on campgrounds that are typically undeveloped and located in rural areas of the forest. Available for booking throughout the year, each cabin is equipped with both air conditioning and heating for year-round comfort.
Each cozy cabin can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, featuring two queen beds and two twin beds that are outfitted with fresh, soft linens and cozy blankets. Each bed is thoughtfully situated next to or beneath a window, allowing guests to awaken to the natural beauty of the forest or drift off to sleep under a blanket of stars.
The cabins will boast a wide array of amenities, including swings, a library stocked with New York Times bestsellers, a soothing soaking tub, a conversation pit/dining table, and a movie screening deck. A remarkable 75% of all interior walls and ceilings are made of glass, offering guests the chance to fully immerse themselves in the natural world. 75% of these glass panels are operable for optimal ventilation, and can be fitted with either fixed or retractable screens. Additionally, the cabin can be divided into three sections, each of which can be screened off independently, allowing guests to enjoy an open-air environment while sleeping and dining, while also remaining protected from insects.
Each of the cabins is equipped with a convenient fire pit and a grilling grate, perfect for cooking up some outdoor meals and gathering around the warm flames during chilly evenings. Additionally, for the comfort and convenience of the guests, every cabin also boasts a private toilet and a hot shower. No need to worry about roughing it in the wilderness!
Each cabin is equipped with a smart door lock that allows for the creation of temporary smartphone passes for guests, eliminating the need for key exchanges and associated issues. Additionally, the cabin features a video doorbell and a noise, motion, and temperature monitoring device.
Depending on local site conditions, plumbing options for each cabin may include: 1. City water and sewer, 2. Well and septic system, or 3. 200-gallon portable water and composting toilet. Similarly, electrical options may include: 1. Local power grid, 2. Solar panels on roof and over parking areas with power banks, or 3. Wind turbines with power banks.
Upon booking, guests will receive a digital lock code via email that will grant them access to their cabin on the day of their arrival. With no front desk to wait at, checking in and out is seamless and hassle-free. To book a cabin, simply visit the Bookings page, select the city, browse available dates and cabins, and confirm the reservation.
Many of the proposed Outposts will run off of a city feed. However, some of the cabins will run on a limited supply of about 200 gallons of water (the soaking tub holds approx. 50-60 gallons). As long as the guest is thoughtful about consumption, there should be enough water for about four nights.
Cabins are fully secure with a digital lockbox and equipped with a landline to call management, or to 911 in case of emergency.
